Deciding on which websites to use.....

Remembering that this is a product for first year graphic design students I think the most important thing for them to be aware of is whats out there. Seeing previous students work is daunting, however, it is key for there to be a variety. So I will show some of our (10/13) year, then 2nd year and some 3rd year.

Design studios are something that they don't need to concentrate on in the first month or so.

Exhibition graphics is a good thing for them to see so that they don't focus their attention to software, forgetting about the variety of things they can do within projects.

Packaging is good to be aware too as it shows how much variety there is within graphics.

Typography is a huge topic that is hard to do yourself if you haven't seen a lot of varieties.


The important thing is for there to be a variety of websites, and that they are aware of the others on the VLE......and inspired to actually go onto it!

I think 25 websites that show a big variety of content and some 'blurb' to introduce them and perhaps a quote...

The websites I will use are:

Each selected due to it's inspiring qualities. They could all be browsed for a long time, there is no shortage of information. Nor are they too intense. For example some typeography websites can be quite dull when first entered. Especially as a first year - I know I couldn't look at some of them now, let alone let them inspire me.
