What is a line?

Brief title: What is a line? Visual Documentation.
The Brief: Exploring lines within the drawing of natural objects
Considerations: What media works best? How will outcomes be categorised? How will the final outcomes be presented? What/Will colours will be used?
Target Audience: Anyone interesting in design and natural images.
Tone of Voice: I want to create striking outcomes that engage with the on looker
Background: Development of skill and investigation in drawing.
Mandatory Requirements: An extensive exploration in drawing.
Deliverables: A collection of drawing and a small carefully selected final outcomes.
Studio Deadline: 26th April.

Action plan:
Week 1 (ending 25/03/11)
Begin by drawing with medias such as pens/pencils/charcoal/coloured pencils/highlighters/felt tips/etc. focussing on natural objects such as flowers. (tulips daffodils etc.) Look at artists that use flowers within their work, both designers and fine artists. Mixing both may lead to a more interesting outcome further on. Mixing disciplines etc.

Week 2 (ending 1/4/11)
Further exploration with mediums, after initial research in week one the successful techniques should be progressed with. Photographs of subjects drawn must also be collected. Similarly, secondary research should begin to be gathered, with the use of the internet, books and other subject matters.

Week 3 (8/4/11)
Decide on a limited subject matter, and progress with digitally. With the use of software such as illustrator explore how to translate hand rendered designs into more sophisticated outcomes.

Week 4 (15/4/11)
Continue finalising outcomes and progress to decision.

Week 5 (22/4/11)
Produce final outcomes and ensure criteria asked for in the brief is satisfied within work load.
