now I've decided on the logo it's important to me to consider different collateral initially going to start with labels as this seems like one of the more simple designs due to the fact there is no need for nets.
From the research I've considered on my context blog I started with seven label designs just in terms of shape. I then went on to apply the logo to the rectangular most simplistic shape.
This was something I realised with determine how I would design for the rest my project therefore after carrying out a few trials I still did not want to choose something and stick with that alone as I thought it was important to see how the designs transferred across the board.
Here's an example of how the logo on the side works a lot better in terms of aesthetics. it looks neater on the page distracts from the very basic shape and adds readability and legibility to the logo
Here I started to look at how the logo would look if it went off the page in this led me to start experimenting with the relationship between the front and the back of the label. This can be seen on the label below and was something I thought could lead to a successful design. It did not give too much away but also led the consumer to turnover page. This said I did want to continue and as mentioned before see how far the designs can go.
So far I've been concentrating on black-and-white logos and this is something that I felt I should experiment with the colour scene above are quite random which is something that I'm bought needed addressing but I didn't know where to get colour from and so decided to leave that for the moment.
Next I started to look at working with a different shape in this instance I looked at using a circle. At this point I think it's important to note what information needs to be on the label. As this is branding herself sales it seemed clear to me that all of the purchasing would be online and therefore would be packaged herself due to the small volume of sales. This leads me to discuss the information needed and at this stage I think it rather limited there is need for barcoding due to the small amount of products and therefore I think the label should be an added personal touch to emphasise the small amount of sales and the individuality of product bought.
Started to consider different types of ink and specials and thought about foiling. This led me to start mocking up how I feel a gloss foil could turn out. this is something that I think will work better than just back and white but because I think it would add a different dimension. this will also relate back to her simplistic style with some notes of experimentation.
Out of these labels I think the most successful are the ones of tries and the reason I haven't tried the others is because I wanted to use and trial the ones thought would be the most successful and if I do have any problems or issues with what I've decided on then I can refer back to the different shapes but as what I'm doing is pretty basic at this point I've don't feel the need to mockup every single shape with the same logo application.
I'm now going to experiment with the rest of the packaging and workout what complements each sector and then decide on an outcome.
