In association with Breast Cancer Care

When considering what makes a product stand out for women, I considered options such as fashion led design or money off vouchers, however, I decided on charity contribution as I thought that choosing something like breast cancer care would be a charity that most women could relate to personally, either if they had suffered from the disease or known someone with the disease. I had decided that in response to the feedback I had received from the survey that most women also didn't like the taste of whisky, so it seemed logical to create a few wipeable handouts of Scarlet Whisky cocktails.

I thought it was important to promote this collaboration online, so designed a webpage for the specific news regarding Scarlet Whisky and their involvement with Breast Cancer Care. I didn't want to change the logo but add two recognisable logos together. This was because I didn't think it was necessary to create a new logo altogether as it would only be used on the packaging and website where it would be clear that there was a collaboration. It didn't need a clever logo.

The website was important to create some sort of contextualisation for this project. After designing Scarlet's website, I used the same grid and template. This page would link out to Breast Cancer Care's site and also give a little more information about the donations made from the sale of the limited edition boxes of Scarlet whisky.

The box I had decided to create a black box that the logo would blend into, I thought that it would look sleek on the shelves in shops such as Selfridges & Co. etc.

I then added the Breast Cancer Care ribbon as I think it's recognisable as a logo. This pink would also mainly attract women as a small piece of detail.

I wanted the box to contain the standard bottle but it would also include the cocktail cards.

The back of the box would have a simplistic label with essential information such as a barcode, where it was made, amount of whisky and legal requirements such as logos.

From the information I received from the survey was that a lot of women do not even like the taste of whisky, so I initially thought I would make a concertina book. This is what I designed for, I stuck to the typeface that I had followed for the rest of the branding. I wanted to keep this all very simplistic. I had also hoped to propose the front logo to be foiled but with a clear gloss so the black had a shine on it.

I decided on these cocktails due to there being quite a selection for varying tastes. I had also put the logo to promote Whiskies & Women.
