When deciding on my target audience, the places where this product would be sold seemed important so I have decided that it will be sold in shops such as Selfridges & Co., Harvey Nichols, John Lewis and smaller specialist whisky sellers. I want to ensure that this product has an exclusivity to it. Despite being aimed at a lot of people, I think that it is important to keep a good reputation up with it.
I started with a really simplistic use of the Scarlet logo on a white A6 rectangle, this was far too plain and I wasn't using the logo I had decided on for the brand.
I next thought about creating the invitation portrait, however, I realised that this created quite a cluttered outcome so decided landscape was key as it spread the information and allowed for more empty negative space, which is always a good think, but in this case really necessary as I was creating something quite minimalist.

Women & Whiskies was something I found and more information can be found on my context blog, but their logo was something that I thought I could maybe use to give more authority to my product and invitation.
I am quite happy with this layout, however, really started to struggle with trying to add the logos, and I recognise that adding logos is always going to ruin your work a little bit, but I decided that the authority wasn't overly needed and so removed them. Although, I will be using the logo from Women & Whiskies somewhere as I think it's an interesting concept and may benefit me with regards to interest.
This is my final design for the invitation for the launch party of Scarlet Whisky.
I intend for this invitation to be printed A6 on a white stock, I also intend to duplex this invitation with a black card inlay to create a thick invitation that appears to be of good quality.
