The App

I thought that designing for an app would be appropriate to create an app that customers could download. The main purpose of this is to advertise Scarlet Whisky and how it can be enjoyed other than on it's own.
The app itself is the logo, this is for obvious reasons. I didn't want to use any imagery as I didn't think it would be relevant.

The welcome screen is also quite simple, using the logo and futurist typeface to inform that the app actually contains cocktails.

I followed a simple aesthetic for the menu too, keeping the logo on screen still but making it a lot smaller on the top left corner of the page. I also decided to keep cocktails on the page, but transformed it vertically as it was not really needed for the page's immediately read information. I believe that it being on it side it doesnt effect the heirachy of the rest of the text.

I decided to make the cocktails very simple by just putting the name of the cocktail in a grey button. I also used a simplistic arrow to show that the list continues. I had considered explaining the taste of each cocktail with a few words, but aesthetically this wouldn't really fit with the rest of the brands identity and this is something that I think comes first when designing things like this.

Each cocktail, once selected showed the ingredients, instructions and an image of the cocktail. Again an uncomplicated aesthetic. The logo consistently in the top left corner of the screen.

I am happy with the outcome of this app as I think it does appeal to women that don't like whisky, but does not rule out men as an audience. This important for sales as it speaks to both men and women. Other parts of my product range are specifically aimed at women but with the simplicity and monochrome it does not rule out the other sex as an audience.
