Due to unpicking the brief it allowed us to narrow down our concept and how we would achieve this. Deciding on our product range was something that would help us both work together as being clear on what we wanted to achieve will help us when delegating who does what.
We had confirmed that Peacocks needed a rebrand, something that involved simplifying the logo and bringing the digital elements of the brand such as: the website, blog, email newsletters forward. They needed to reflect other similar brands in the market but bridge a gap between good fashion and low prices.
We are going to focus on two areas, the promotion of the re-opening of the store and then the overall image of the company.
With regards to the re-opening, we have decided that we should design an invite that catches peoples attention. I will comment on this later on when focussing on the design decisions for this.
The online presence is something that we will focus on. Initially we will look at the website, this will then be adapted for the blog and email newsletter.
One thing that really stood out to us when researching the brand was the blog/youtube videos and generally the quality of some of the clothes. Especially in reference to the Lowe range, it seemed so much better than the preconceived misconception of the brand. Therefore, something that could so easily be promoted. It appeared that this would help us, we were just to promote something that already existed. It didn't need to be thrown in peoples faces. This was something that I thought was important.
With regards to the branding I wanted to reinforce this. We brainstormed about ideas and mentioned the entire 'peacocking' expression. However I thought that we wanted to express the good fashion and the simplicity of this. We didn't want something that was overtly pretentious or pretending to be something else.
SO...we decided on 'Peacocks, just good fashion'.
