Book fair progression.

I wanted to begin by creating an outline of an A. As I was given this as my focus it seemed a good place to start. I chose to do it in upper case due to it giving a more striking appearance and I also believed it would sit nicely on a portrait page.

I believe the symmetry of the letterform would also balance the curves of the quilling itself. As I hope to use this as my poster on the hot dog fold I want it to be a strong image.

This letterform would allow a very curved final image. Despite it reflecting the quilling, I believe it would probably work better as a whole word in lower case as the flow could continue through the whole image across the page.

This is how far I've got with the quilling of the upper case 'A', I want to continue with it with just black to create an impact on the viewer. As we have the intention to sell these I obviously want to create a high standard final piece.

As I have run out of black quilling paper I am seeing if by using different colours then changing a layer to black and white on photoshop if it will create an acceptable outcome. Despite only working with mobile photos at the moment I can get a quick idea of how the out come looks in both colour and black and white. I think it works well as black and white as it creates a stronger contrast between the quilling paper and the paper it's on.
